Interesting how this time of year you see a little bit of a wardrobe change for most people. Sure the shorts grow back into pants (well, they dont really GROW into them but work with me here) The short sleeve shirts become long sleeves. The Hoodies come out with the jackets in the evening as we get ready to pack up the flip flops (or flop filps if that's your thing. And if it is you go right ahead and knock yourself out flop flipping) sandals and swimsuits (does anyone really swim in a suit [img]graemlins/hmmm.gif[/img] ) for the winter and look forward to breaking them out again next spring/summer. Yeah, its still warm out. Gonna hang around the 70s-80s for a while during the day but that night chill is starting to hang around a little bit more. You can feel it. So back to my point (whatever the heck it was, this started out as a post about the pool closing and has gone in another direction entirely) Ah yes, the changing of the wardrobe. When it turns to fall, the colors of the leaves change as do the colors we wear. People who dont wear much orange (especially orange stripes) find themselves not only wearing them, but painting themselves with them as well. I myself break out the orange and navy for my Bears just as the Bengal fans go to tiger stripes as the season change. Yes, folks football season is here. The Red white and Black of the Bearcats, the orange white and black of the Bengals, the colors of whatever team it is that you root for become part of your wardrobe at least once a week. That jersey that's been hanging in that closet all spring and summer looks at you on a daily basis waiting for it's chance to return to it's spot proudly worn by it's owner. The hat, the gloves, the jacket, the earmuffs, the thong (might not wanna show that one off too much, people might start to wonder) they all return to their spot in the regular clothing rotation. We again show our love of our team and our pride in being a fan by dressing like the players themselves. By wearing their name across our back (wouldnt it be [img]cool.gif[/img] if they wore yours just once). We once again become football fans and fanatics. Sure we do it for other sports, we sport our jerseys and hats but no other psort celebrates it's once a week game as such an occasion. I love baseball and look forward to watching the games and seeing my cubbies when they come to town, but they do play 5 or 6 times a week. Same with hockey and basketball. They each play numerous games and a much longer schedule. Not football though. Once a week. Every sunday is gameday (unless it's a bye week or they play on monday or thursday but I already asked you once to work with me on this) Time to tailgate at home or at the game. To gather to watch or watch by yourself and cheer them on like you were there in person. Yes sports fans. Football season is back and I for one am pretty darn happy about it. Cheer for whatever team you like and wear your colors with pride.
